LA vs. NY: Everything You Need to Know for WTGL's Inaugural Match
The Wait is Over
First announced in January, WTGL was created in partnership with the LPGA to showcase the best players in the world in a fast-paced, team competition at the custom-built SoFi Center. The venue has already hosted the 2025 & 2026 season of TGL presented by SoFi, which will resume with the 2027 season on December 27.
Many WTGL players are already familiar with the tech-infused style of play having attended TGL matches.
Now it’s time for Wie West and the rest of the WTGL roster to get in on the action and take aim at the Screen, a massive indoor simulator featuring a host of one-of-a-kind holes designed by some of the top golf architects in the world.
After players have teed off, the action moves to the GreenZone - a completely customizable putting and short game surface that rotates 360 degrees to provide a different look on every single hole.
Zhang will hit the first-ever tee shot in WTGL to begin the 15-hole match, with players taking turns for the first nine holes in Triples and going heads-up over the final six holes in Singles.
It all gets underway Sunday night, with fans surrounding the action and playing a part as the first season of WTGL kicks off in style.
