Aki Iwai has spent her life chasing a dream alongside her identical twin sister, Chizzy—but she has quickly proven that she is more than half of a remarkable golf story. The sisters made history in 2025 as the first twins to compete on the LPGA Tour, and they wasted little time making their presence felt.

Aki arrived on tour as a six-time winner on the JLPGA Tour and immediately showed she could compete with the world’s best. Earlier in her rookie season, she fired an extraordinary 61 at the Honda LPGA Thailand before eventually finishing runner-up. Months later, she captured her first LPGA title at the Standard Portland Classic, closing with a bogey-free 66 and a four-shot victory.

The celebration was fittingly an Iwai family affair: Chizzy, who had won earlier that season, was waiting on the 18th green with champagne for her sister. Their shared success made them the first twins to win on the LPGA Tour.

Aki has continued to build on that breakthrough. In July 2026, she came agonizingly close to another major moment, finishing third at The Amundi Evian Championship, just one shot out of the playoff.
