With the WTGL rosters set, stats expert Justin Ray dives deeper into the players, strengths, and numbers that define each team.
Excitement is building as we inch closer to the inaugural season of WTGL. A deep list of accomplished WTGL athletes have now been sorted into five founding teams.

Evaluating these rosters properly requires more than just a cursory glance at the Rolex Women’s World Rankings. Decision-making, Hammer strategy and team chemistry are just some of the elements that help teams separate themselves under the bright lights of SoFi Center.
So what should we expect from each team in the first season? Let’s comb through each roster and break down the strengths, club by club.
ATLANTA DRIVE GC
One of the deepest rosters in the league belongs to Atlanta Drive GC, the only club that enters the first season with multiple players who have won more than one major championship (Minjee Lee: 3, Yuka Saso: 2). Charley Hull, one of the biggest stars of the game, has done just about everything in the sport except win a major. Hull has five runner-up finishes in major championships, tied for second-most in LPGA history among players without a victory.
Hull’s magnetic personality will be on full display during mic’d-up matches throughout WTGL’s inaugural season. Make no mistake, though, her game is even bigger than her personality. The eight-time European Solheim Cup player has been ranked in the top-20 on the LPGA Tour in scoring average each of the previous four seasons, and in 2025 she ranked a career-best fourth in strokes gained total.
Saso has enjoyed one of the more remarkable beginnings to a major championship career. When she won the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open at The Olympic Club, she tied the record (to the exact day) for youngest champion all-time with the great Inbee Park. Three years later, at just 22 years old, she won again to become the youngest two-time winner in U.S. Women’s Open history.
Atlanta Drive GC won the championship in the inaugural season of TGL presented by SoFi. Few would be surprised if their WTGL counterparts did the same in the first season of WTGL competition.
BOSTON COMMON GOLF
The unique bond Keegan Bradley has with the Boston sports teams he loves has been one of the fun facets to the first two seasons of Boston Common Golf’s TGL tenure. Enter Megan Khang, from Brockton, Massachusetts, an LPGA Tour winner and Solheim Cup star who shares a similar passion for Boston sports. Khang will bring an electric presence and precise iron game to SoFi Center.
Speaking of approach play, Lottie Woad has been one of the best tee-to-green performers in the sport since turning professional last summer. Woad wasted no time making an impact: she won the KPMG Women’s Irish Open on the Ladies European Tour while still playing as an amateur, then in her first start as a pro won the Women’s Scottish Open. Woad reached No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in 2024 shortly after her victory at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
Ina Yoon, who finished runner-up at this year’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, eight-time JLPGA winner Chizzy Iwai and major champion Celine Boutier round out the Ballfrogs’ lineup.

LOS ANGELES GOLF CLUB
A familiar face at SoFi Center during the first two seasons of TGL, Michelle Wie West will move from her investor’s seat to the screen and green this fall representing Los Angeles Golf Club. Wie West’s long list of accolades is the product of a distinctly unique career: her name is all over the ‘youngest to’ sections of golf record books, yet the apex of her professional career came in a U.S. Women’s Open victory in 2014.
Wie West’s LAGC teammate, Kiara Romero, is coming off a glimmering amateur career of her own. Romero is a two-time winner of the Mark H. McCormack medal, an honor given to world’s leading amateur player every season. Earlier this year, Romero helped lead the American team to a 13-7 victory over Great Britain & Ireland in the Curtis Cup.
LPGA veterans Gaby Lopez and Alison Lee, who have more than 60 combined top-ten finishes on Tour, add reliable ball striking and depth to this LAGC group. Statistically, Lopez has also become one of the game’s better putters in 2026.
MOTOR CITY GOLF CLUB
On paper, Motor City Golf Club might be the most formidable of the five clubs. Statistically, this is the strongest team off the tee: Henderson, Thitikul and Yin have been stalwarts atop the LPGA’s total driving statistic throughout each of their respective careers. And that doesn’t even include Lexi Thompson, one of the most powerful players of not just her era in women’s golf, but throughout the history of the game.
Thitikul and Yin are both former world No. 1s firmly in their respective primes. Henderson, still not yet 30 years old, has the most career victories by a Canadian player on either the PGA TOUR or LPGA Tour and picked up a pair of top-three finishes in the majors this season.
Motor City will be a tough out in the inaugural season of WTGL.
NEW YORK GOLF CLUB
Lydia Ko has done it all in the world of golf, from winning on tour as an amateur, to being a three-time major champion, to winning bronze, silver and gold medals in the Olympic Games. So it makes sense that the LPGA Hall of Famer stewards a WTGL club, leading New York Golf Club into the inaugural season of the league.
As accomplished as Ko is, she is far from a legacy player at this stage of her career. Expect NYGC to excel around the greens, as Ko has ranked in the top-five in scrambling percentage each of the previous three LPGA Tour seasons. Rose Zhang, who like Woad won in her first LPGA start as a professional, also ranks near the top of the LPGA Tour this year in strokes gained around the green.
Yana Wilson just turned 20 years old, but already has experience winning big-time team events as a pro: earlier this season, she won the Dow Championship, the LPGA’s official team event contested in Michigan.
It All Begins This November
This immensely talented collection of athletes is guaranteed to be entertaining this season inside SoFi Center.
